Post Vacation

Dinner at Earls

Well, after 10 days away we are home! It was a great vacation with family but I am really happy to sleep in my own bed. 🙂

I ended up having another great weigh in while on vacation, in fact, maybe even better than if I had been home. I think I was so nervous to have a unsuccessful weigh in that I was extra diligent and worked hard. I ended my vacation with a -5 lbs weigh in yesterday, so this makes me only 5 lbs from reaching my next goal which is the 100 lbs mark. If you asked me on Jan 12, 2014 if I could see myself here today, I would be very doubtful. I seriously can’t believe how easy it has been. It’s amazing once you have the right outlook, how easy things can come to you. For all those out there struggling with your weight and tired of the disappointment, hang in there, your time will come!

The biggest thing I noticed over the past couple weeks is how much my change of lifestyle has affected my family. I am sure the small town of Fauquier knows that we are now gone because they no longer see my kids out jogging their streets once or twice a day. I can’t believe how much more active my kids have become, more aware of what is healthy eating and what is bad eating. Don’t get me wrong, they allowed themselves treats (grandma’s baking) but in much-much smaller amounts then ever before. I even saw a kid decline a Nanaimo bar once, WOW! They acknowledge how much better they feel coming home from holidays in shape and not feeling bogged down from junk! Even if I hadn’t been totally successful with my own goals, as a mom, it’s a win-win because my family is healthier for the lifestyle change. Yeah!

My last week of vacation is filled with visitors, so my weight loss will be less than the previous week and that is ok. It’s a life balance and we have to allow some fun in there or I wouldn’t be successful because that is not real life. I will just work extra hard to burn off those beverages that I may indulge in on a Saturday night. 🙂

It’s great to be home!

I am a strong confident woman. I am a mom of 3 three amazing children, married to my BFF of 25 years, who loves weight training, yoga, hiking, cycling, and sometimes still the odd run. I am currently completing a MA in Interdisciplinary Studies with a specialization in Leadership in Organizational Culture at Royal Roads University, which will be completed in January 2020. I am currently working in higher education for BCcampus as a Project Manager for Collaborative Projects. I lead a coaching community of practice at my workplace which I developed as part of my Masters. I dabble a bit in coaching outside of work but will likely do more as I complete my Masters. I have big goals for myself, there are no limits to what is possible.
