100 lbs to celebrate!

Yippy! Today I finally hit a 100 lbs weight loss! I seriously can’t believe how far I have come in 7 short months. I am a completely different person than I was on Jan 12th when my journey began. I have waited for this day to come for a long time and now that it is here I am a bit numb. I think it will take a bit of reflection looking back at some photos to really grasp what I have accomplished. I look forward to the next 80-100 lbs coming off but for now it is time to celebrate this milestone. My goal was to hit 100 lbs by Oct 12 when I run the Goodlife 8K Road Race, but it looks like I am slightly ahead of things, which is awesome!

I want to thank my amazing husband for making this accomplishment so easy. When I made a decision to do this he was so supportive and made it a family affair for us.  I saved the text conversation from the day that I decided to start my journey.  His reply made me cry because his unwavering support for me is unbelievable.   20140815_084152 20140815_084206

My kids, wow, what can I say about my kids. They have been so awesome, they eat healthy, they are there for every big hike or run. They encourage me along the way in ways that makes my heart burst. I am the luckiest mom alive!

Huge thanks to my brother Darren, he is such an inspiration to me.  The things he has overcome and accomplished in his life makes me realize that if you set your mind to it, you really can do anything!

The continued support from my mom, sister, aunties and cousins all make this such a rewarding journey.  One guy that is missing from my journey is my dad, I miss him so much and wish he could be here to watch me do this.  I know that if he was here, there wouldn’t be run or Tough Mudder that he would miss.  I guess in a way, he is always with me a bit as I struggle through whatever challenge I am facing at the time.

To all my Chicas, I love you and thank you so much for all your texts, FB comments, and for those who have signed up to do the Goodlife 8K Road Race with me. Your encouraging words help keep me grounded on the goal in front of me!

A huge thank you to my work out buddies/friends and co-workers! Yah, you guys are awesome, motivating and very patient. 🙂 Thank you always being there for me when I need a kick in the ass and super happy to be there for you too when you need a kick in the ass! 🙂

My next goal I have set for myself is to hit 128 lbs loss by December 25th!  I will be ramping up my training with the TC10K and the Whistler Tough Mudder in June 2015 in sight.  But the first order of business in a spontaneous decision to run a 6K run this weekend with Taylor along with my brother and his family. I will try and be as prepared as possible for the Goodlife 8K Road Race, which is now only a month away.  I think that will be an emotional day for me.  I can’t believe and thank my family and friends enough for all signing up to do this with me.  Love you all!
